I enjoy playing the cello in as many different ensembles and styles as possible, particularly for dance: tango, swing, contemporary, pop, live rhythms, ceilidh, renaissance. I have been a member of Giffords Circus Band, created a children's theatre piece with hand-shadow artist Drew Colby, performed widely in Britain and Europe with these artists and others, been a rare sighting of a cellist at a Classic Jazz Festival. My own band, Tango Zapatito is a duo of accordion and cello with harmony vocals, playing for dancing or listening.
I like to teach adults - new starters or those returning to playing, and run a community cello group, Cellodees, playing allsorts arranged to cater to all standards.
